Plans, usage & billing
How minutes are metered, what each plan includes, and exactly when you're charged or refunded. This table renders from the same plan matrix the servers enforce.
Plan comparison
| Basic | Pro | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $0 | $49/month |
| Annual price | — | $470/year (save 20%) |
| Clipping minutes / month | 100 | 3000 |
| Extra minutes | $1 per 100 min | $1 per 100 min |
| Max single video | 2 hours | 8 hours |
| Moments per project | 10 | 50 |
| Concurrent analyses | 1 | 5 |
| Retention | 7 days | 180 days |
The Free tier is for evaluation and testing. When you outgrow it, Pro is $49/month for 3,000 minutes — or $470/year (save 20%) billed annually — and extra usage never requires a plan change.
How minutes work
- One minute of source video costs one minute of quota, rounded up per video — regardless of how many clips it produces.
- Minutes are charged when analysis starts, after the video's real length is probed.
- Failures refund in full, automatically. Cancelling refunds too when the analysis had barely begun (under a quarter analyzed).
- Your meter (sidebar and Settings → Billing) resets with your billing period — or monthly on the free plan.
Hitting a limit
When you're out of minutes, over the per-video cap, or at your concurrency limit, the action is blocked before anything uploads or charges — with a message saying exactly which limit you hit and what an upgrade changes. Enforcement lives on the servers; the UI is only its reflection.
Extra minutes
Out of minutes mid-period but don't want a bigger plan? Settings → Billing sells extra minutes at $1 per 100-minute block that apply to the current period. Purchases are verified against Stripe server-side and credited exactly once — refreshing the confirmation page can't double-charge or double-credit.
Automatic overage billing
- Optional and off by default — turn it on in Settings → Billing.
- When an analysis needs more minutes than remain, we automatically bill $1 per 100-minute block — only as many blocks as the video needs — and the analysis continues without interruption.
- Example: on Pro with 3,000 included minutes, a video that takes you 50 minutes past the allowance auto-purchases one 100-minute block for $1; the unused 50 minutes stay available for the rest of the period.
- Every auto-purchase appears as a normal invoice in your Stripe billing history. If the payment fails, the analysis is blocked with a clear message — never silently billed twice.
Upgrades, downgrades, invoices
Settings → Billing handles checkout, plan changes, cancellation, and invoices through Stripe's secure portal. Payments are processed by Stripe — card details never touch our servers. Cancelling keeps Pro until the period ends, then drops to Free without deleting anything; projects past the Free retention window are cleaned up on the normal schedule afterwards.
