Uploads & imports

Every way to get video into ClipRadar, with the exact formats and limits.

File uploads

PropertyLimit
FormatsMP4, MOV, WebM, MKV (H.264/H.265/VP9/AV1 video with an audio track)
File sizeUp to 20 GB

Uploads stream from your browser directly to secure video storage. Keep the tab open until the upload bar completes — after that, processing is fully server-side and you can leave. An upload that never finishes is cleaned up automatically within a day and never charges your minutes.

URL imports

  • Twitch VODstwitch.tv/videos/… links. Chat replay is analyzed alongside audio and visuals, so crowd reactions count as detection signals.
  • YouTube videos — standard watch/short/youtu.be links, up to 1080p.
  • Direct video files — any https link ending in .mp4, .mov, .webm, or .m4v.
Only these sources are accepted — arbitrary URLs are rejected before anything touches a media pipeline. Private, region-locked, or DRM-protected videos can't be imported, and platform-side bot protections occasionally block a public video too; a clear error explains what happened and nothing is charged.

Duplicates & cancellation

  • The same URL can't be imported twice while the first analysis is still running.
  • Any analysis can be cancelled from its project page; the engine stops at the next stage boundary. Cancelling early refunds the minutes.
  • Failed or cancelled analyses show a Retry button that re-runs from the source.

Languages

Transcription (and therefore captions) supports the major languages our speech provider handles — English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, and more. Clip detection works in any language through the audio/visual signals; the speech-excitement cues and AI judging are currently strongest in English.
